New geocache is a small container well hidden bewteen two pine trees near the walking path. You no longer need to use a kayak!

The old geocache required the following: To retrieve this geocache, you will need to use a small boat/ kayak to go to the posted coordinates and pull up on the floating object that is attached to the geocache retrieval line. Pull it up about ten feet and you will find a waterproof quart size container. Take care in opening it as not to loose its contents. When finished signing the log, please reseal the container to keep it waterproof. Then carefully place it back in the water so that the weighted line attached to the bottom container will be able to return it to its underwater home.
Please note: “New Hanover County Parks does not allow swimming in the lake”. You do not have to get out of your boat for this cache. This is a fairly easy retrieval process using the retrieval line so please stay in your boat.
