Geocache Description:

Welcome to Calleva Atrebatum the ruins of a Roman town situated on the site of an older, slightly smaller, iron age settlement.


There are several caches on the walk round the walls of the town and another multicahce that are all worth the walk if you’ve got the time.

This is a straight forward multi, go to the small information board at the virtual stage location coordinates: N 51° 21.680 W 1° 5.277 at the corner by start of the path to Calleva just behind the three tall flint pillars.

What is the (larger) area of the Roman Town A B hectares

The site was abandoned some time between the C and D centuries.

The site has been excavated by archeologists at different times, the late nineteenth, early twentieth centuries and during the last E F years.
