I discovered this park-in-progress today, complete with a brand-new pickleball court, as I was finding a couple geocaches near here.
I had a lot of fun playing pickleball for the first time last month, so hope to come back here to play again. It's a bit of a cross between tennis and badminton. In fact, the game was invented in the summer of 1965 when then Washington State Representative Joel Pritchard returned from golf with friends to discover that their families were bored at home. They attempted to play badminton but no one could find the shuttlecock. So they played with a Wiffle ball, lowering the badminton net and using plywood from a nearby shed as paddles. His wife Joan for some reason was reminded "of the Pickle Boat in crew where oarsmen were chosen from the leftovers of other boats". A pickle boat is the last boat to return with its catch.
Some come on out, enjoy the new little park, find a couple caches, and let me know if you want to play some time!
Congratulations to streamwood_cachers on the FTF (#191)!
