WWFM -World Wide Flash Mobs – Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events all around the globe, gathering at the same time.
Sonny and Sandy of the Podcacher Podcast came up with the WWFM idea after attending a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event. These caching events are intended to bring together geocachers and introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.
WWFM History:
Flash Mob I – May 2007 – almost 200 San Diego, CA geocachers; 20 world-wide events.

NEXT SCHEDULED: WWFM XII - Saturday June 13, 2015 – 12:00-12:30 p.m.
About this event: We will be gathering at the Keeling-Puri Peace Plaza at noon. The parking lot can be accessed from McFarland Rd. The log book will be passed around throughout the 30 minute gathering, and a group photo will be taken before the event ends. What a better place to have a world wide event than at a place that has more than 40 flags from around the world!
ATTN: According to Sonny and Sandy of the Podcacher Podcast, there isn't any plans this year for event attendees to earn a special souvenir this year!
We will meet at the posted coords at 12 noon. We will have brief instances where everyone in attendance will phoon. If you don't know what a "phoon" is, see the picture below. And since flash mobs now have to be at least 30 minutes in length, it's not much of a "flash" mob.... more like a slow motion mob. So in addition to intermittent phooning, we will also be walking around and interacting with each other while moving in slow motion. The event ends promptly at 12:30!
