Please note you should approach this one from the Blue blazed trail! Do not try to approach from the main Bruce Trail (white blazes), follow the BT down to the valley and then come back a small section of the sidetrail if needed.
Welcome to Crawford Lake (Trails)
Come visit the 232-hectare park established in 1969 in Milton. Along the Niagara Escarpment, this regionally and environmentally sensitive area offers 19km of hiking and trails connecting to the Bruce Trail.
It is a rare meromictic lake and one of the most accurately dated pre-contact archaeological sites in Canada.
Some features of Crawford Lake Conservation Area include:
• An elevated boardwalk with interpretation stations surrounding the lake
• Educational programs and exhibits
• Nassagaweya Canyon interpretive lookout
• A 15th century reconstructed Iroquoian Village and heritage site
• Visitors centre, gathering place facilities, gift shop, theatres, lunchrooms, exhibits, displays and outdoor picnic area
