Clubs and/or local communities have built dirt parks on HBRC land for public use. These are great places to develop your cycle skills and ability to handle jumps and tight curves.

• Clive Dirt Park – on river berm next to Clive River carpark, beside the bridge.  Getting a makeover before summer 2013/14.
• Taradale Dirt Park – on river berm next to Pettigrew Green Arena

These 'parks' have been constructed by community groups or club volunteers, who also maintain the tracks as required. Designed specifically for BMX bikes, jump bikes or mountain bikes -  no motorbikes allowed.

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council has been pleased to assist interested groups to find suitable sites for dirt parks on HBRC land alongside rivers. Staff provide guidance on the design of the tracks so that these can fit in with flood control needs along river berm areas, which can be under water during a flood.
