15 anni di Geocaching
Il 2 maggio 2000, esattamente 15 anni fa, la degradazione artificiale del segnale GPS è stato spento.
Da questo punto il ricevitore GPS non poteva essere utilizzato solo per gli aerei, marini e militari, ma anche per la navigazione precisa sulla terra e sulla strada.
Il 3 maggio, pensò David Ulmer, se fosse riuscito a misurare le coordinate di un oggetto nascosto con una tale accuratezza, che qualcun'altro potrebbe trovarlo. Nascose il primo geocache quel giorno.
Per celebrare questa giornata, tutti coloro che visitano un evento o loggano la scoperta di una cache ricevono un souvenir digitale da Groundspeak.

Le 2 mai 2000, il ya exactement 15 années, la dégradation artificielle du signal GPS a été désactivé.

Le 3 mai, David Ulmer se demandait s'il pouvait mesurer les coordonnées d'un objet caché avec une telle haute précision, que quelqu'un autre pourrait le trouver. Le même jour, il a caché la première géocache.
Pour célébrer cette journée, chacun qui visite un événement de géocaching ou logue la découverte d'une géocache reçoit un souvenir numérique de Groundspeak.
15 years of Geocaching
On May 2nd, 2000, exactly 15 years ago, the artificial degradation of the GPS signal was turned off.
From this point on GPS devices could not only be used for aircraft, marine and military purposes, but also for precise navigation on land and roads.
On May 3rd, David Ulmer wondered, if he could measure the coordinates of an object's hiding place with such high accuracy, that someone else could find it. The same day he hid the very first geocache.
To celebrate this day, everyone who visits an geocaching event or logs a geocache find receives a digital souvenir from Groundspeak.
15 Jahre Geocaching
Am 2. Mai 2000, vor genau 15 Jahren, wurde die künstliche Verschlechterung des GPS-Signals abgeschaltet.
Ab diesem Zeitpunkt konnten GPS-Geräte nicht nur für Flugzeuge, Schiffahrt und Militär benutzt werden, sondern auch für die präzise Navigation an Land und auf der Straße.
Am 3. Mai überlegte David Ulmer, ob er die Koordinaten eines versteckten Gegenstands mit so hoher Genauigkeit vermessen könnte, dass jemand anderer diesen finden könnte. Er versteckte an diesem Tag den allerersten Geocache.
Zur Feier dieses Tages bekommt jeder, der einen Event besucht oder einen Cache findet, ein digitales Souvenir von Groundspeak.
