Geocache Description:

St Mary's Chapel, Capel-y-Ffin.

Built in 1762, St Mary's Chapel sits next to the main road through the small hamlet of Capel-y-Ffin in the Black Mountains. It also gives the hamlet its name: 'Capel-y-Ffin' translates as 'Chapel of the boundary' (boundary being the English border, less than a mile to the east).

The interior is only 26ft x 13ft long, making it one of the smallest churches in the UK.

The chapel is unlocked and open to the public 99% of the time, 24/7. (Though I don't recommend coming at night as burglary is an issue around this area)
There is an honesty box on the church sign and a visitor book inside the chapel which you can sign if you want to.

If parking please do not do so by the house with the phone box next to it, as free dogs guard this house. The best place to park is the layby near the 'Welcome to Capel-y-Ffin' sign, which I've waypointed.

Cache is a small circular pot along the footpath between the two chapels. The cache is ON AN EMBANKMENT ABOVE a dry stone wall. so DO NOT SEARCH IN THE WALL AS IT ISN'T THERE and could risk damage to the wall. I have added a spoiler photo to show you the exact location of the cache, so you have no reason to look within the wall. The cache has permission from the landowner to be placed in its location (ie. above the wall).
