Geocache Description:

Welcome to Crawford Lake (Trails)

Come visit the 232-hectare park established in 1969 in Milton. Along the Niagara Escarpment, this regionally and environmentally sensitive area offers 19km of hiking and trails connecting to the Bruce Trail.

It is a rare meromictic lake and one of the most accurately dated pre-contact archaeological sites in Canada.

Some features of Crawford Lake Conservation Area include:
• An elevated boardwalk with interpretation stations surrounding the lake
• Educational programs and exhibits
• Nassagaweya Canyon interpretive lookout
• A 15th century reconstructed Iroquoian Village and heritage site
• Visitors centre, gathering place facilities, gift shop, theatres, lunchrooms, exhibits, displays and outdoor picnic area

Visit Crawford Lake Conservation area and explore a provincial area of natural and scientific interest, and a world biosphere reserve.

Enjoy your hike. There are so many wonderful things to see.
