May 3, 2000: Dave Ulmer of Beavercreek, Oregon hides the Original Cache (GCF @ N 45° 17.460 W 122° 24.800), post a note on a usernet newsgroup that he had hidden a stash and for other to try to find it. The original container was a black plastic bucket that was partially buried in which was placed a Delorme Topo USA, 2 CD Roms, a cassette recorder, a "George of the Jungle" VHS tape, a Ross Perot book, 4 $1 bills, a slingshot handle and a pretty notorious can of beans (now the O.C.B. trackable). That was the beginning of our sport of geocaching
