Small country churches and cemeteries are absolutely amazing to me!

This is a wonderful little country church located north and west of Elora Ontario in the county of Center Wellington. I have passed it many times as I have journeyed to work, geocaching or just driving around Wellington County. The county line, on which it is located, is a major route from the northern parts of the Wellington County to the southern counterparts.
I so wish these old buildings could speak, if the could this one would speak about the original building, called Pentland Methodist Church - erected on one acre of land provided by William Emerson Harper. Following Church Union, Pentland Methodist Church became Pentland United Church in 1925. Pentland United Church was closed about 1940. The property was purchased and re-opened by the Bethel Mennonite congregation which was formed through outreach of the Elmira and Floradale Mennonite churches.

The church has graciously given permission for geocachers to park on the property and for me to hide the cache there and one in the cemetery as well. I do not recommend parking on the side of the road, as 8th line is a very busy roadway.
Please do not cache during church services. You are all invited to join them if you so inclined.
Please be stealthy when retrieving this cache. Replace the cache as you found it! Happy caching!
