The Crawfords Cottage @ Crawford lake Traditional Cache

This concrete structure was once the front porch of the Crawford family cottage. The Crawfords owned the land here from 1883 till 1969.

Welcome to Crawford Lake (Trails)

Come visit the 232-hectare park established in 1969 in Milton. Along the Niagara Escarpment, this regionally and environmentally sensitive area offers 19km of hiking and trails connecting to the Bruce Trail. 

It is a rare meromictic lake and one of the most accurately dated pre-contact archaeological sites in Canada. 

Some features of Crawford Lake Conservation Area include:
• An elevated boardwalk with interpretation stations surrounding the lake
• Educational programs and exhibits
• Nassagaweya Canyon interpretive lookout
• A 15th century reconstructed Iroquoian Village and heritage site
• Visitors centre, gathering place facilities, gift shop, theatres, lunchrooms, exhibits, displays and outdoor picnic area
