THE Rocket Man Traditional Cache

On the edge of the Kennedy Space Center lies this cache dedicated to the GREATEST of all astronauts!!  Charles “Pete" Conrad was a rare piece of alchemy! A smart, skilled engineer, test pilot and astronaut who managed to keep his rowdy spirit, common sense and sense of humor. Small in stature but larger than life!  A true American who loved the simple things like fast cars, faster jets, loud bikes, a good joke and a shot of hooch. 

Located in the scenic and easy to get to William J. Manzo Memorial Park. Directly across the Indian River from the historic Pad-39A where Apollo 12 made history, and the gigantic Vehicle Assembly Building. The tranquil shore makes an ideal frame for the amazing view of human history. This scenic 2.48-acre community river park is situated on the Indian River. The park is ideal for family fun. Facilities include a playground near restrooms and picnic facilities. Well shaded by pine and palms, this park features a paved walkway and riverfront boardwalk. Additional facilities include 3 picnic tables along the boardwalk, picnic shelters, a small pavilion, 8 grills, benches, and drinking fountain. This cache is a large one, perfect for folks visiting the Kennedy Space Center.
