Geocache Description:

Nice and easy cache on Brandon's Ponderosa.  On the Brandon to Bishop Auckland cycle path so very easy to get to on foot or bike. For those driving, parking nearby opposite Brandon Cricket ground and a 50 yard walk.

Site is busy and exposed. We have looked carefully for the best place to put these caches to avoid being seen by pedestrians on the busy adjacent paths, so please replace exactly as you found it.

 

Brandon Ponderosa is on the site of Brandon Coliery.  The colliery closed in 1960 and by 1972 the site had been bulldozed and covered in a thin layer of soil which resulted in meadow grassland.
