A quick park (across the street in pharmacy parking lot) and grab. BYOP. Thank you, PixieKelly (4/9/2015), for entrusting this cache to my care. I have nice memories of this location to share.
In 2017, I participated in the NYSDEC’s (New York State Department of Environmental Conservation) TREES FOR TRIBS program. The purpose of TREES FOR TRIBS is to improve water quality through vegetated buffers to filter and slow pollution runoff and absorb flood waters to protect human life and property. The waterline behind the Gazebo was planted with trees supplied by the NYSDEC. It required the permission of the Town of West Haverstraw whose Mayor Robert D’Amelio was in full support. I was the acting Cornell Master Gardener who organized local Scout troops to help plant the trees. It was a wonderful community planting event – gardeners, Scouts, politicians and the DEC – coming together to do something important for our environment. Today, Geocachers will see the result of our efforts when they visit The Gazebo.
