Geocache Description:

GANARASKA MILLENNIUM CONSERVATION AREA

This conservation area located north of Port Hope at County Road 28 and Highway 401 provides residents and visitors with a natural respite in which to walk, picnic and enjoy the natural environment. Various demonstration sites are designed to show landowners how to protect and enhance their properties through conservation techniques such as native flower and grass planting, slope and bank stabilization, woodlot plantings and use of indigenous plants in home landscaping projects. A covered picnic shelter is available for use by the public, community groups and schools for classes, workshops and social activities. Approximately two kilometres of meandering trails now exist around the old Molson Pond area and along the Ganaraska River.

This cache could be a quick grab - but hopefully you will spend some time here and check out the trails.

The cache is large enough for trackables and trades.

Cache is hanging from a cord - please replace balancing on lower branch so that cache does not hang or sit on ground

How to get there:

  • Exit Highway 401 at County Road 28 in Port Hope.
  • Travel north to the first set of lights.
  • Turn left into the parking area.
CONGRATULATIONS TO billedm on FTF!
