Geocache Description:

The Marsworth Circular Series is a series of caches along a 4-mile circular walk along the base of the Chiltern Scarp, passing through areas of archaeological interest. Some are possible as a cache and dash but if you complete the walk there are many caches (not just ours) along the route.

We recommend you take a copy of the circular route map with you which can be downloaded from the related web pages link.

This cache is situated on the Aylesbury Arm of the Grand Union Canal which opened in 1815 at the unusual staircase lock (two locks with the bottom gates of one forming the top gates of the next). Please be extra-cautious here as muggles can quickly approach from all directions (the bridge above the lock, under the bridge or down from the top lock). Also, at the time of placing a new housing development is being built so stealth definitely required! You're looking for a cammoed container with room for medium sized swaps. **container upgraded on 11/6/15 to much larger container, please replace carefully ensuring it's not too visible from all approaches, thank you**
