LASHENDEN (HEADCORN) AERODROME
PLEASE USE THESE DIRECTIONS -
You can park in the main car park area (waypoint 1) and wander over to GZ if this is all you are in the area for.
Please do NOT wander onto the airfield at any point - I have been advised geocachers have been seen doing this while trying to look for this cache - there is no need to, so please don't
If you are planning a longer visit to the aerodrome (possibly to do the Adventure Lab 
) - park in the same car park - I would suggest do the Ad Lab first.
Please note if the aerodrome is not busy you can possibly park where it is free - on busy days you will have to park up beyond the barrier and get a parking token.
A little history....
Opened in 1943 during the Second World War, RAF Lashenden became a prototype for the temporary Advanced Landing Ground airfields that were built in France after D-Day, when the need for advanced landing fields became urgent as the Allied forces moved east across France and Germany. RAF Lashenden was used by the Royal Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force and United States Army Air Forces before closing in September 1945. After the war the airfield reverted to farmland until, with the resurgence of interest in civil aviation in the 1950s, the current private grass airfield was opened.
The cache is now a handcrafted themed container - **Tweezers required** - please handle this carefully and do not remove the logsheet container from its host - just remove the lid.
Please replace carefully and out of sight as best as possible (note: magnet is uppermost)
If you cannot find the cache, do not assume it missing and do not put a throwdown as a replacement.
