Rindal er en kommune på Nordmøre i Møre og Romsdal som ligger 95 km fra Trondheim. Den grenser i nord mot Hemne og Orkdal, i øst mot Meldal, i sør mot Rennebu og Oppdal, og i vest mot Surnadal.
Kommunesentrum er Rindal sentrum, og tettstedet ligger på Rindalsplatået (145 moh.) og har ca. 700 innbyggere. Der ligger også den populære badeplassen Igltjønna (Som i løpet av våren 2015 får sin egen geocacherunde. Red.anm.)
Rindal er den eneste kommunen i Møre og Romsdal som ikke grenser mot havet og blir ofte omtalt som "Porten til Trollheimen" med vakker og variert natur. Nederste delen av bygda, Aune (ved grensa mot Surnadal) ligger bare 45 moh., mens grensa mot Meldal lengst opp i bygda ligger på 280 moh. Kommunen feira 150-jubileum i 2007, etter at kommunen ble utskilt fra Surnadal i 1857.
Rindal kommune har flere ganger i løpet av 2000-tallet blitt kåret til Landets beste kommune å bo i, i følge Levekårsundersøkelsen av Statistisk sentralbyrå (SSB) Siste gang i 2005. SSB kåret Rindal til landets 7. beste likestillingskommune i Norge og best i Møre og Romsdal i 2006. I tillegg ble Rindal kommune kåret til landets 3. beste kommune på service i Forbrukerrådets kommunetest i 2007.
Rindal kommune søkte om overflytting til Sør-Trøndelag fylke i 1949. Området Fossdalen i Rindal ble overført til Hemne i Sør-Trøndelag 1. januar 2008.

Rindal municipality has several times during the 2000s has been named the country's best municipality to live in, according to the Living Conditions Survey by Statistics Norway (SSB) Last time in 2005. SSB named Rindal to the country's 7th best equality municipality in Norway and best in More and Romsdal in 2006. In addition Rindal municipality named the 3rd best municipality in service in the Consumer Council's municipal test in 2007.
Rindal municipality applied for transfer to South Trøndelag county in 1949. The area Fossdalen in Rindal was transferred for Hemne in Sor-Trondelag 1 January 2008.

Nor. Rindalslina-cacher er en serie med flere geocacher som går gjennom Rindalslina. Disse går gjennom hele Rindal, fra grensa ved Sør-Trøndelag Fylke og til grensa ved Surnadal kommune.
