Workers at the nearby water treatment facility would often hike to this spot for lunch. On this date, three workers visited the area and never returned. I could find no other information about this case during the research phase of my investigation. While this is certainly a beautiful area and a very easy hike, my instinct tells me that this case was probably not an actual ManBear encounter. This spot is just way too serene! While I was visiting, I could imagine Phos4s and jaf430 sitting on a nearby log and eating their apples for lunch after making another quick find. I found no bones, no clawmarks, no nuthin'!
While I'm not geocaching, I often wander through the woods of Liberty Reservoir for hours and hours. I've heard the tales of the Liberty ManBear from the legendary cachers of the area, but I could never tell if they were being truthful or just trying to scare the newbie. So, I've decided to start my own ManBear Investigation to finally end this nonsense. I've poured over dozens of police reports of various sightings, strange events and unexplained disappearances around the Watershed. I've visited every website pertaining to urban legends and conspiracy theories in the area. You might say, I still have nuthin'! As I follow up on any lead worth investigating, I'll leave a container at each of the sites that I visit. Perhaps there is a clue to his(or her) existence that I have missed, so I am asking for help from the rest of the geocaching community. Perhaps there might be a clue within each container that may help us find his home...
