Bowser: The Turtle King
Bowser is the big bad guy in the Super Mario series. He is an evil but dumb creature, and wants to take over the Mushroom Kingdom (worlds 1, 4, 6 and 7 from New Super Mario Bros Wii). Bowser has stolen the dethroned Princess Peach from her castle and taken her to his castle in the kingdom (worlds 2, 5 and 8 from the same game). After which Bowser sends out his army of creatures to protect him from Mario, Luigi and their helpers. There have even been times when Bowser has taken the Princess to space.
Bowser is a turtle, and all turtles in the game are named Koopas. He does have family, though. He has eight children, including the famous Bowser Junior. The others are named after people from the 1980s and 1990s. He has a mother, but she was only seen in the DIC show The Super Mario Bros Super Show. He also has a Koopa love interest, from the DIC show Adventures of the Super Mario Bros 3.
Bowser has been in all of the Super Mario series' games, Mario Kart, Mario Party and Mario Galaxy. He has also made appearances in other random games. In SimCity SNES, Bowser is a disaster event the player can spawn, while in Pikmin 2 he is a flower. In Wii U Port for Bayonetta, Bayonetta can summon Bowser while she wears a Princess Peach suit, and if you play Tetris he can be seen in the results screen. His most known appearance other than the Super Mario series is in the movie Wreck It Ralph, during a Bad Guy's Anonymous meeting.
