Ultra box #1 Traditional Geocache

My wife and I are very new to the world of Geocaching but it's a fun way to add extra interest to a long walk with our dog.  

Growing up in Boyle, my wife and I both spent alot of time exploring the Lough Key Forest Park (or 'Rockingham' as it's locally known in the town) so this was the perfect place to hide our very first geocache. Our nephews Cael & Dara helped us pick the items and decorate the box.

We both love spending time here and although we live in Galway, every time we visit Boyle we come to the park to walk our dog. I camped in Lough Key as a boy scout and I worked here for a few summers at the end of the 1990s in the admissions hut while my girlfriend (now my wife!) worked in the tourist information hut at the other end of the park. My band was first on the bill at the one day music festival 'Rock the Lough' which was staged in the park in 2001 and in 2009 I directed a documentary that later aired on RTE about the link between UFOs and Boyle and we shot much of our footage in Rockingham at night. So we have a strong connection with Lough Key and my wife decided to hide our Geocache beside one of her favourite spots in the park - The Fairy Bridge. The renowned architect John Nash, who was responsible for building the Regents Park and Regents Street in London, designed the bridge as well as Rockinham house which was burned to the ground in 1957.
