So we plan to be at Nydie from about 4pm on Friday 19th June until lunchtime on Sunday. That evening someone will do the traditional chippie run and no doubt there will be a certain amount of clinky drinkies consumed in the classy corner. I have my special Classy Cocktail Bucket (with built in ladle holder) at the ready - thanks Marie Donian and the Team Clova lassies!
The campsite at Knockhill of Nydie is small and family owned. I have reserved the area near the toilet blocks so that we can all be together and the owner is kindly allowing tents, caravans, motor homes, etc to all be mixed in together. Prices start from £16 for a 2 person tent per night. Glamping in Woodwams is also available right next to the area we will be in. More info on the site is available here http://www.nydie.co.uk/ When booking, rather than using the booking form, please phone in order to make sure that the site know you are with the Geocaching group.
On Saturday there will be the opportunity to take part in a friendly ;-) family fun game of Airsoft at nearby Crail Airfield. This will be open to cachers, their family and friends and to anyone else who wants to take part and the organiser has once again pledged to keep prices as low as is feasible. If you would like to take part in the Airsoft please say so in your log and I will contact you to let you know how to reserve your slot and pay your deposit.
On Saturday evening we will be having a Curry evening - chicken or veggie - with a charge of £4 per adult and £2.50 per child. Please specify which and for how many in your log. Any donations of poopadoms or chutney would be welcome! Non campers will be welcome to join us on Saturday evening (say maybe 6 - 7 ish until 10pm - its difficult to be specific - depending on Airsoft/weather/how many assistants JackieC gets to help cook/etc). if you want to just pop in and not partake in the curry night that’s fine too
Most of you know that I haven't been in the best of health lately so any help you can offer over the weekend to contribute to the running of the event would be really appreciated. Hopefully we'll get out a few new caches too.
