Yoshi: The Dinosaur
“I know! We should team up! Come on! Hop on my back!”
Yoshi is a character from Super Mario World, the fourth game in the home console series. Yoshi is a dinosaur and part of a bigger group of the species that live on Egg Island. The well-known, loveable character, is mainly green but has many variants in that coloration. They are a peaceful race and love to stick with each other as a family, or with Mario and his gang as help mates.
Yoshi is ride-able and can ‘fly’ for three seconds. This helps Mario get to many places. He has been in most Mario games since Super Mario World and is a favorite among people. He has a good friend named Birdo, part of a species also called Birdo that look like dinosaurs. Originally Birdo was seen as an enemy in Super Mario Bros 2.
Yoshi does have his own games now. His most played seems to be Yoshi’s Island where he has to return Baby Mario to Baby Luigi and the stork. He is also the main character in Yoshi’s Safari and Super Mario 64 DS, a remake of Super Mario 64. He is quite arguably the most memorable character in the series, beyond the namesake.
