It is possible with care to drive to the northern end of the lake from Llanfair Clydogau to the west or perhaps from other routes through the forest. From the northern end of the lake it is a short walk down a track to the cache.
Vehicle access is prohibited now. For a walk through the forest start from the Llanddewi to Ffarmers mountain road side at the parking waypoint.
This is a natural lake extended by damming to provide water via a leat for mining operations down near Llanfair Clydogau. It's usually deserted but can get busy in good weather as it's such a good spot for a bbq or to relax near the lake.
We found a cache here on our first day of caching back in 2005. Sadly that cache is now long archived so we decided to place this cache here as a replacement.
GPS signal was a little weak at the exact cache location so there is a detailed hint.
