Spirit Quest - Bay Center Pioneer Cemetery.
The cache is located on the backside of the cemetery in the wooded area. There is no need to disturb any graves or monuments, but please take your time and have look around. The cache should be an easy find especially with the use of the hint. Since this is a pioneer cemetery it is unlikely that there will be any mourners here, please be respectful of the grounds and any possible visitors that might not understand what we are doing. Limit your search to daylight hours only please.
The Bay Center Pioneer Cemetery was once simply known as the Bay Center cemetery. After the New Bay Center Cemetery began in 1951, this cemetery became known as the Old Bay Center Cemetery. Today the marquee for the cemetery simply reads Pioneer Cemetery.

The Bay Center Pioneer Cemetery began as an Indian burial ground. The first burial was that of the medical man known as Doctor Jack. His internments was above ground in a white teepee monument. There were also several children interned in the same way. The white settlers demolished the Teepees and began using the Indian burial ground as their own cemetery. It is said that there are many unmarked burials in this cemetery.
While there are no posted hours, I ask that the cacher only search for this cache during daylight hours out of respect for the cemetery. While you are here please take your time and look around, and enjoy all of the history here, but remember to be respectful, since the cemetery has been inactive for at least the last 75 years, it is unlikely that you will run into any mourners, but please be respectful of the grounds and any possible visitors that might not understand what we are doing. The cache is NOT located near any graves.
Congratulations goes to Sanssheriff and Gingersnap for co-first to find.
