The television show Cheers ran from 1982 to 1993 and was centered on a local bar in Boston. Sam (Ted Danson) was the former major leaguer who owned the bar and worked as the chief bartender. Carla (Rhea Perlman), Diane (Shelley Long) and later Rebecca (Kirstie Alley) were barmaids to regulars Norm (George Wendt), Cliff (John Ratzenberger) and Frazier (Kelsey Grammar) . Woody Harrelson joined the cast as bartender Woody Boyd after the death of Coach (Nicholas Colasanto). The storyline followed the on again off again romances of Sam and his battle with alcoholism. The theme song "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" could be the theme song for this town.
