SPIRIT OF THE PACHECO FAMILY CEMETERY Traditional Cache

This camo'd bison tube is hidden on a heavy traveled road, Camino del Medio, so you can park at the business to the South and walk a short distance or drive down into the cemetery, unless the road is wet.
 

This cemetery is located in the middle of Taos. It is the private cemetery of the Pacheco Family.  The Pacheco's were early settlers in the region in the 1800's.  They were farmers, ranchers and also raised sheep.  There are decendents of the Pacheco's still living in the Taos area. 

In the old days the families would often set aside an area for the family cemetery on their property. 

Spirit caches are a series placed at or near NM cemeteries in hopes of paying respect to the Pioneer Ancestors having "gone" on before us, and, possibly picking up a bit of history of the area.
