Geocache Description:

Hidden along Cedar Creek are remains of what may once have been a covered bridge.

This geocache series is all about abandoned/orphaned bridges hidden away and pretty much forgotten by public awareness. Here is an interesting history to tell: this geocache is located on scenic Cedar Creek just up 16 highway West from Valley Falls, and depending on what historical map you reference, it's the location of the Kansas pioneer ghost town of Jefferson City. Today a favorite of farming families, you can hear the gurgling and rumbling of the falls just up stream at the swimming hole. Great location to develop into a family-friendly park putting in picnic tables and barbecue grills.
