Geocache Description:

Gandolfo Gardens was named after Salvatore (Sam) Gandolfo who was the first non-Anglo Australian mayor of Coburg in 1968-69. Sam came to Australia from Italy as a child in 1926. The gardens contains roughly 15 different species of trees, one of which was an aboriginal scar tree but was removed in 1968 due to its danger to Moreland Rd pedestrians. To placate the local residents, the council replaced it with a 'life-like' concrete tree stump. Hmmmm!

The cache is hidden in plain sight but unlike our other caches, should be found easily by the kids or somebody new to caching so if you are thinking of getting a friend into it, this is the cache for you. Container is approx. 10 cm x 5 cm so it’s not another damn nano. Peak times will see a high volume of muggles passing by so please avoid morning and afternoon peaks. Cache has a pencil and log and a prize for FTF. There is room for very small swaps only. Happy hunting
