Kwai Shing East Estate(葵盛東邨) was called Kwai Shing Government Low Cost Housing Estate(政府廉租屋) at early 70's, with 9 blocks of building from Block 12 to 20. It was the 4th Low Cost Housing Estate at Kwai Tsing District.
During 1983 to 84, Housing Authority had a full examination of all housing estate with more than 5 years age. Lots of buildings' concrete strength did not reach standard level, 26 buildings even at not acceptable level, including block 18 and 20. Block 18 and 20 were disassembled at early 90's. Block 13-17 and 19 were also disassembled from 1993 to 1995.
The remaining Block 12 was used as interim housing(中轉房屋) at 1995, provides temporary accommodation to all those rendered homeless as clearance operation. 23 July, 2008, Housing Authority decided to disassemble Block 12.
GZ is now called Kwai Luen Estate Community Garden (葵聯邨社區公園), which is the location of former Block 12. In the park, you can see a preserved part of Block 12.
The cache was hidden at the preserved part of Block 12, at the basketball court side, with opening hour from 7am to 10 pm. Basketball player muggles are near you, please be stealthy. Hope all of you enjoy this place.
