Santa? Is That You?? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

iowaPete: I had an incredible amount of negative activity occur on my hides in just the last two days. So today, after family celebrations for Easter, I headed out the door to check out these caches and see what was going on.

I had just checked a half-dozen caches to the west of here. Since I was so close to this one, I thought I would stop and take a look.

Ohhhh, man. This one has really deteriorated. The front still looks good, but there's no longer a top, nor a back or base. Nature is slowly absorbing it. The cache container sticks out like a sore thumb. In fact, I'm surprised that nobody has noticed it and swiped it! [:O]

I really hate to do this, but I think it's time to sunset this cache. I can still remember the day that @24hawki and I placed the cache. I told her: "You watch - this one's gonna get Favorite points."

Lotsa great log entries for this cache, and I know a lot of cachers were scratching their heads and asking, "Now why would anyone dump something like that out here??" Well, it got an extended second-life of almost 8 years as a geocache, and I'm glad it was here for us to bring a smile to lots of faces. Please enjoy the attached photo...

Big THANK YOUUUU to everyone who came out and chased it. Stay tuned for new things in the future...

iowaPete [:D]

Geocache Description:

This cache was hidden in conjunction with the IGO's 2015 Hike-n-Seek.

While out looking for hiding places, I discovered this unusual beacon and knew in an instant that it was going to be a great place to locate a cache.  This one might be tricky, and has a little surprise for thorough searchers.  I hope you like the container, and enjoy your day out on The Heritage Trail.

**Remember to be good ambassadors to nature. We as geocachers have a responsibility to leave it as we found it, so others may enjoy nature's glory. Always replace the cache the way you found it, so others may enjoy the find.
