redrob45: Went up to check on the cache today, and it was gone. We are moving out of state in about a month, so instead of replacing, I believe I should just close it out. Sorry to do it--was a glorious day up there today--puffy white clouds in a blue sky, snow-capped peaks, no wind... ah well. To everything there is a season....

Geocache Description:

Short hike in area of historical interest.

This is my first cache-hiding experience. The cache is a plastic ammo box. It requires about a .2 mile mostly uphill walk. It is particularly beautiful at sunrise and sunset. During the middle of the day....you will see why the Oregon Trail pioneers hurried thru this area! But the views are good, and you can learn about those rugged people who walked this dusty sod, if you read the interpretive panels. I placed this cache in honor of all the geocachers out there who have puzzled, frustrated, stumped, and, ultimately, delighted me. Kudos!
