One of a series of easy caches located in cemeteries along the eastern side of Montana and western side of North Dakota. The caches are an attempt to give insight to the ancestry of those that settled in the area. The caches are away from any memorial markers. Please be respectful of the sites.
I've lived in Sidney most of my life and recognize many of the surnames on the older plots for friends and classmates. Many hail from the British Isles; English, Irish, Scottish, old Gaelic; some were German; and a few were French with one family tied to the Normans, a term for descendants of Vikings in northern France. One name could have been from anywhere in western Europe and another from one of the Scandinavian countries.
