This was originally at ground level, in a wee container in a wee log, but I had to change how I hid it after a muggle took a liking to my wee ... wee wee containers ... so I made it smaller, and higher, and crocheted some fuzzy green camo for it. But then the tree grew, and shed all its lower branches, including the one with the cache, so I moved GZ over the other side of the bike path to a nice bushy hiding place that had grown there ... but that became rather scruffy, and the cache was eventually muggled, and when I went to check it, I noticed that the original tree had changed again, and was now an even better hiding space than it originally was - so now GZ/the cache is back over there, in the original location, but now up in the tree, in some crochet camo :)
Why here? I had been planning to place my first cache here for almost 2 years before I finally got around to it ... but my first cache ended up being a CITO event!
So - this was my first Traditional hide, and was my first actual Geocache container/etc. that I have hidden somewhere. This location is quite near where I had lived for the last 17 years (I moved out not long after hiding this, to the other side of the same suburb), and it is also just up the road from where I found my first Geocache in January 2013 ... and - the main reason - it is a location I used to walk past quite a lot, as most of the times when I walked the dog we would come up the little laneway and go one way or another along the bike path, or sometimes along beside the road.
I was thinking I would hide it closer to the laneway (near where it was moved to for a while) but when I went to hide it I had to wait for a muggle and for his 2 dogs to finish "lifting a leg" all over the tree I was thinking of hiding it at the base of! ... so I decided maybe this one, on the other side, was a bit less of a target (I wanted it to be a "Wee" cache ... but not a "wee soaked" cache - eeew - I am so glad I came up with my idea of hanging caches in crochet "coccoons" :)
Watch out for muggles - there can be quite a few wandering/riding past here at times, and please tuck the cache back into its camo :)
While it might be possible to pull off the road nearby, it might not be very safe (or legal?) so I would recommend ducking in to one of the nearby side-streets and walking in that way.
