The Olga Strawberry Barreling Plant, built in 1938, was added to the Washington Register of Historic Places in 2008. Recently, the Island community was startled and saddened when an arsonist set fire to the building, which caused significant damage to the building. Over the last few years, there has been an effort to rebuild and rebirth the building, as before the fire, it was not exactly to code. Notice the black exterior paint in the café, to memorialize the fire damage.
We do not recommend venturing into the trees, as it is very wet. However, this cache is not wheelchair friendly.
