2 photos showing the view from near the cache. These photos are taken just 24 hours apart in late April. I recommend suitable clothing and sturdy footwear for this one!
Please note: the cache is NOT placed at the boulder you stand on at the viewpoint.
Large Lock 'N' Lock container with a logbook and various items including a disposable camera. Once the film roll is full I will post the photos in the gallery for the cache. Feel free to take a photo of the view, or you and the view!
There is plenty of parking as well as toilets for this cache available at the Inverfarigaig forest trails carpark. At the carpark there is free leaflets provided showing the forest trails in the area. I reccomend you take one!
Start by walking uphill from the carpark, you will be following the green trail initially. As the slope begins to level off there is a left turn marked by a green post with a green strip at the top. Follow this path for a good 500 metres until you come to a slightly more open area on a left hand bend. At this left hand bend there is a green post on your right hand side marked with a blue strip. Take this path and follow it.
The path climbs steadily through the trees until you come to a ridge. Follow the path along this ridge until you see a green board marked with a viewpoint symbol. Follow the path beyond the board until you come to a viewpoint overlooking the village of Inverfarigaig and Loch Ness beyond. The cache is very close by but not directly at the viewpoint, so I recommend you take in the view and then turn around to look for the cache.
PS: Even if your hike results in a DNF, I hope the view will go some way to making up for it!.
