Geocache Description:

Many locals are not familiar with this work of art because it is placed off of the main road. The cache is placed in an area suitable to view the 9/11 First Responders Memorial created by sculptor Erik Blome. Using actual beams from the World Trade Center and his own clay creations, he built a monument to honor the first responders, many of whom lost their lives that tragic morning. He began his dedication remarks by saying...

First, let me say three words…

“Selam”

(which means “Peace” in the Ethiopian Amharic Language, the language of the country where my son is from, and also the word for “peace” in Arabic.)

“Shalom”

“Peace”
