The Light Rail "Tin Wing Stop" was originally named "Tin Shui Wai Terminus" (天水圍總站).
Later, to avoid confusion with Tin Shui Wai Station (天水圍站) in KCRC West Rail (now MTR West Rail Line), its name was changed to "Tin Wing Stop" on 1st Aug 2003 due to nearby Tin Wing Road.
The "Tin Wing Stop" is also famous by its development project. Tin Wing Stop project had two failed bids record, called the most unpopular site in recent years. The first bids occurred in early 2013, and it was the first 'zero bids' MTR project in history.
