Geocache Description:

Small communities and large throughout New Zealand were decimated by the loss of their young men and woman who answered the call to fight for King and Empire in The Great War of 1914 to 1918 and who paid the ultimate Sacrifice.

100 years on we honour those brave men and women

The Taranaki Daily News(paper) of Saturday 25 April 2015 front page offered the following,

Their names are etched in stone monuments in
every corner of Taranaki. One hundred years after the
Gallipoli landings we pay homage to the brave men
and women who never returned from World War I

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM

Below the Headline is images of over 35 memorials from throughout Taranaki listing the numbers of fallen comrades etched on each memorial.

It's a poignant and powerful front page.

To work out the location you need to view a copy of that newspaper. Your local library should have a copy, or else you can go to this web site http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/map/taranaki-memorials

The coordinates of the cache is at S 39° 01.ABC E 174° 17.XYZ.

You need to add up the total numbers fallen for each of the locality's listed memorials as follows...

Unfortunately there's quite a disparity between the newspaper and NZ History site, so I've added the numbers that are needed (from the newspaper).
