At the invitation of The Flintshire Countryside Rangers at Wepre Park, Connah's Quay, Flintshire, the North Wales Ddraigs are holding an 'Introduction to Geocaching' demonstration on Saturday 16th May between 11am and 2pm.
It would be lovely to have you there with us to help spread the pleasure we all get from our hobby to prospective and newer Geocachers.
..........................................................................
A huge "Thank You" to Flintshire Countryside Rangers (FCRs), who at our last event in this fabulous location, approached us to ask if we would like to hold an 'introduction to Geocaching' event on their behalf.
Well, you know how nuts we all are about our hobby so of course we said yes!
Where: Wepre Park Visitor Centre, Wepre Park, Connah's Quay. CH5 4HL
When: Saturday May 16th between 11am and 2pm.
We anticipate running a couple of introductory presentations during the event and setting 'groups' of new explorers off 'a-huntin' - with an experienced Geocacher - at the end of each session.
The FCRs have provided us with a number of basic GPSRs for use at the event and we will have set a few temporary 'demonstration caches for learning purposes' in close proximity to the park's Visitor Centre, to enable those who want try their hand to have a go.
Now, we know that this is where you folks are at your best, so please come along and share your expertise and advice, swap tales of triumphs and woes, and other Geochat to help introduce some new geocachers into our mad, mad world of Geocaching.
The park itself is dog friendly however only 'assistance' dogs are permitted within the visitor centre building. As is usual for this location, hot and cold refreshments - the staff always do us proud with their delicious bacon butties - are available for purchase (cash only, no cards accepted at time of writing) from the Old Hall Café within the visitor Centre but you are under no obligation to purchase to attend the event.
We also hope to be able to work in conjunction with the FCR's to provide some new 'caches too.
Thank you to Tim Johnson of Flintshire Countryside Services for inviting us.
