Geocache Description:

Series around the wonderful Lancelot Clark Storth (LCS) Nature Reserve, looked after by Cumbria Wildlife Trust. Please read the info, follow the route, be gentle searching, and respect this great location. Also enjoy the views, rocks and nature!

Look out for the unusual limestone pavement specialists such as rigid buckler fern, limestone fern and angular Solomon's-seal. In the more open areas you can find dark red helleborine and fly orchids. On the thinnest soil look out for blue moor grass - with its silky blue flowers in April. Juniper is abundant both on the pavement and the grassland and there is lots of scrub areas. On thicker soil you will find bracken sometimes with bilberry and heather beneath.

Although the round table was where the knights met in council and equality, King Arthur also had a throne and throne room for other official business. Although nothing remains of the throne room, the throne still remains. Sit down, relax, survey the landscape and contemplate King Arthur ruling from this very spot, if legend is to be believed!

Directions: From the storm stone, head NW out onto another lovely grass 'ride', then follow it down to the cache. Nice views again! The whole route is about 3 miles, so maybe time for a rest!

While sitting and enjoying the view, you may like to read this very informative pdf about the area's limestone landscape.
