Just Plane Crazy (Double Sunrise) Traditional Cache
Boeing737: Sadly archiving this one as there are now signs up saying that the area is under surveillance and there appears to be a camera pointing towards GZ. Don’t want any geocachers falling foul of the 99.

A quick park and grab. ***BYO PEN*** Please replace at mid-calf level. If driving, park in Love Street as Spalding Street gets very busy.
This urban cache is hidden in plain sight adjacent to a public footpath in Flynn. It is set back from busy Spalding Street, but stealth is required because of houses overlooking GZ. Either drive to the cache or pick it up on your walk up to the Mt Rogers nature reserve. Continuing my aviation theme, this cache is dedicated to the memory of the Qantas Catalina flying boats which operated 'Double Sunrise' flights between 1943 and 1945. These secret flights between Perth and Ceylon involved a non-stop Indian ocean flight of 5,652kms for an average 28 hours flight but often much longer. Passengers were issued with a certificate entitling them to membership to 'The Rare and Secret Order of the Double Sunrise', because they had been airborne more than 24 hours. (For more information see Qantas' website, where this information was sourced.) The Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) have a Catalina in their flying fleet which occasionally flies into Canberra. Otherwise, you can visit her at their Museum at Albion Park near Wollongong. Sadly, there is no room for swaps or a FTF wood geocoin in this cache.
