[MEGA2015.lu] P Mitte der Welt im Wibbelsmierchen Mystery Cache

This series tells you a few stories about incredible or strange events in and around Dudelange. The sagas and legends are originally published in German. We try to show you the places where these stories could have taken place. The areas changed, but the stories are still remaining.

Due to some distance problems with other caches in the surroundings it wasn’t possible to place some caches at the place where the stories took place. So don’t be too disappointed.

You'll find the story in the listing, but to find the cache, you first have to solve the riddle and sometimes, you have to read the story to understand how to crack the riddle.

The checker tells you more about the Code for the Bonus-Caches. Solve the riddles from A to M for Bonus 1 and the riddles from N to Z for Bonus 2. Then do the nice Multi Cache GC5P7RM to find the formulas for both Bonus.

Man findet es merkwürdig, dass in der Mitte des zwischen Budersberg und Bettemburg gelegenen Wibbelsmierchen, trotz dessen Lage auf einer Anhöhe, in Zeiten großer Trockenheit noch stehendes Wasser zu sehen ist, wenn bereits lange schon die meisten Quellen ringsumher versiegt sind. Man soll sich wohl hüten, meinen die Leute, den Fuß auf die Mitte dieses Moores zu setzen; sonst würde man in eine schauerliche Tiefe sinken: denn dies ist die Mitte der Welt.

On trouve cela étrange, qu’au milieu de Budersberg et Bettembourg dans l’étendue appelée « Wibbelsmierchen », en grande période de sécheresse, quand la plus part des sources des alentours sont déjà depuis longtemps à sec, et ceci malgré sa situation, à savoir qu’il s’agit d’une butte, on peut toujours encore y voir de l’eau dormante. Les gens disent qu’on doit se garder, de placer son pied au milieu de ce marais, car alors on tomberait dans une effroyable profondeur ; car ceci est le milieu du monde.

The middle of the world in “Wibbelsmierchen” near Budersberg

It is very strange that in the middle of Buderberg and Bettembourg, in the area called “Wibbelsmierchen”, despite its situation on an elevation, and even during intense droughts, when for a long time most of the sources around were dried out, one can always see standing water. People thought that you have to beware of placing your foot in the middle of the moor, or otherwise you would fall in a terrible depth; because this is the middle of the world.
