[MEGA2015.lu] U Weiße Jungfrau auf Johannisberg Mystery Cache

This series tells you a few stories about incredible or strange events in and around Dudelange. The sagas and legends are originally published in German. We try to show you the places where these stories could have taken place. The areas changed, but the stories are still remaining.

Due to some distance problems with other caches in the surroundings it wasn’t possible to place some caches at the place where the stories took place. So don’t be too disappointed.

You'll find the story in the listing, but to find the cache, you first have to solve the riddle and sometimes, you have to read the story to understand how to crack the riddle.

The checker tells you more about the Code for the Bonus-Caches. Solve the riddles from A to M for Bonus 1 and the riddles from N to Z for Bonus 2. Then do the nice Multi Cache GC5P7RM to find the formulas for both Bonus.

Die weiße Jungfrau auf dem Johannisberg.

Während des Krieges bestieg einst ein französischer Hauptmann abends den Johannisberg. Als er oben angekommen war, sah er links vor der Kirche eine schöne, schneeweißgekleidete Jungfrau stehen. » „Wer bist du?“ redete er sie an. Die Jungfrau aber gab keine Antwort, regte und bewegte sich nicht. »Ich frage wieder, wer bist du? « fragte der Hauptmann ein zweites Mal aufgeregter. Die Jungfrau blieb stumm und unbeweglich wie zuvor. „Gib Antwort, “ rief der Hauptmann erzürnt zum dritten Mal, „oder ich durchbohre dich!“ Doch die Jungfrau sprach noch immer kein Wort, stand regungslos da, als wäre sie von Stein, und sah ihn kalt mit hellen, starren Augen an. Da grauste es dem Hauptmann und in einem Atem lief er herunter nach dem Dorfe Kail, wo er dreimal nacheinander ohnmächtig zusammensank.

La Demoiselle toute en blanc du Mont St.Jean

Pendant la guerre un capitaine français se rendit le soir sur le Mont St.Jean. Arrivé en haut, il vit à gauche devant l’église une belle, Demoiselle toute habillée de blanc. « Qui es-tu ? » s’adressa-t-il. La Demoiselle ne répondit pas, et resta immobile. „Je demande à nouveau, qui es-tu? “ demanda le capitaine excité pour la deuxième fois. La Demoiselle resta muette et figé comme avant. « Réponds » cria le capitaine en colère pour la troisième fois, « ou alors je vais te transpercer ! » Mais la Demoiselle resta silencieuse et plantée là, comme si elle était de pierre en le clouant du regard avec des yeux clairs et fixes. C’est alors que le capitaine prit peur et sans reprendre son souffle il redescendit jusqu’au village de Kayl où il perdit connaissance trois fois de suite.

The white maiden at the mount St John.

During the war in the evening, a French captain climbed up to mount St. John. Arrived at the top he saw standing at the left side of the chapel a pretty snow-white dressed maiden. „Who are you“? He asked her. The maiden gave no answer, and made no movement. „I say it again, who are you“, the captain asked again frightened. The maiden stayed there dumb and motionless. „Give an answer“, the captain shouted a third time, „or I’ll pierce you with my sword ». However, the maiden didn’t say a word, stood there motionless like a stone and looked at him with cold, bright and fixed eyes. Horrified, the captain run back to the village of Kail, where he swooned three times.
