[MEGA2015.lu] L Geldfeuer am Fuße des Johannisberg Mystery Cache

This series tells you a few stories about incredible or strange events in and around Dudelange. The sagas and legends are originally published in German. We try to show you the places where these stories could have taken place. The areas changed, but the stories are still remaining.

Due to some distance problems with other caches in the surroundings it wasn’t possible to place some caches at the place where the stories took place. So don’t be too disappointed.

You'll find the story in the listing, but to find the cache, you first have to solve the riddle and sometimes, you have to read the story to understand how to crack the riddle.

The checker tells you more about the Code for the Bonus-Caches. Solve the riddles from A to M for Bonus 1 and the riddles from N to Z for Bonus 2. Then do the nice Multi Cache GC5P7RM to find the formulas for both Bonus.

Geldfeuer am Fuße des Johannisberges.

Am Fuße des Johannisberges, nahe an der äußersten Spitze des sogenannten Klöppelchen und hart an dem von Budersberg nach Kail führenden Pfade, stand noch vor etwa zwanzig Jahren ein alter Birnbaum. In der Nähe desselben hat man auch vor einiger Zeit Grundmauern eines Gebäudes entdeckt. Dort ging einst nachts ein Mann aus Kail vorbei und sah ein lustiges Feuerchen unter dem Birnbaum brennen. In der Meinung, Hirten hätten es angezündet und verlassen, nahm er eine Kohle auf seine Pfeife und ging seines Weges. Zu Hause angekommen, fand er ein Goldkörnchen in der Pfeife liegend. Schnell kehrte er zum Birnbaume zurück, doch das Feuer war bereits verschwunden.

Le feu d’argent au pied du Mont St.Jean.

Au pied du Mont St.Jean, non loin de l’extrémité de la pointe appelée « Klöppelchen » et très près du sentier allant de Budersberg vers Kayl se trouvait encore il y a vingt ans un vieux poirier. A proximité de ce même, on a découvert il y a quelques années, des fondations d’un bâtiment. C’est ici qu’une nuit un homme de Kayl passait son chemin et vit un amusant petit feu, brûlé en dessous du poirier. Etant convaincu que des bergers l’avait allumé et abandonné, il prit un bout de charbon qu’il mit dans sa pipe et continua son chemin. Arrivé à la maison, il trouva une pépite d’or dans sa pipe. Vite il retourna au poirier, mais le feu avait déjà disparu.

Moneyfire at the bottom of the “Johannishill”.

At the bottom of the “Johannishill”, near the very top of the so-called “Klöppelchen” and close to the path leading from Budersberg to Kail stood about twenty years ago an old pear tree. Close to that tree, we found foundation walls of a building. Here, a man passed from Kail at night and saw a funny burning little fire under the pear tree. Believing that shepherds had lit the fire and left it behind; he took a coal on his pipe and continue his way. Arriving home, he found a gold grain lying in his pipe. Quickly he returned to the pear tree, but the fire had disappeared.
