Geocache Description:

Walking around Melbourne you will find plenty of references to Collins. Most notably Collins Street which is named after Lieutenant Governor David Collins.

The container is not at the listed coordinates. This is a simple multi-cache which requires you to pinpoint the location where the following photo is taken.

David Collins sailed on the First Fleet in 26 January 1788, he became one of the founders of the prison colony of New South Wales at Port Jackson (Sydney), serving as lieutenant governor and as the new colony's first judge advocate. Collins was responsible, under the governor, for the colony's legal establishment. Collins also established the first, short-lived settlement in Victoria at Sullivan Bay on Port Phillip in 1803. He sailed from England in April aboard HMS Calcutta, arriving at Port Phillip in October. After landing at Sullivan Bay near present-day Sorrento, he sent First Lieutenant James Hingston Tuckey of the Calcutta to explore Port Phillip. Tuckey's report and his own dissatisfaction with the site chosen prompted him to write to Governor King seeking permission to remove the settlement. When King agreed, Collins decided to move to the Derwent River. He arrived there in February 1804 established the future town of Hobart.

The cache is located in a tight rocky spot that will limit your ability to get a good GPS satellite lock. It is somewhere between Collins street and Little Collins Street, A short stroll away. The container is large enough for small swaps and small trackables. Please beware of Muggles when retrieving and concealing the container.
