I wanted to do something different for Jim's last 2 milestone caches and place them on the trail close to my home.

I remember doing the G-Man series with Jim during the winter of 2014.  There was at least a foot of snow on the trail with temperatures -10 to -20 degrees.  I think we did 25 plus caches and I found a stopping spot, but Jim wanted to keep going.  I told Jim my feet were frozen and I was going home and we could start back here in a couple of days.  A couple hours after I got home, I got a email from Jim, saying I found the next five caches so when your ready, you can climb after them.  After reading his email, I thought to myself, this guy is crazy.  Even at his age nothing slowed him down.  One of the toughest guys I ever met.
