Art Deco Goes to School Traditional Cache

Baton Rouge Magnet High School is housed in a wonderful art deco building surrounded by beautiful oak trees so we though everyone should see this in our city. I assigned my physical education student this geocaching project and this is the outcome.

Study Hard, Play Easy, at this Blue Ribbon Magnet High School that was built in 1926. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The school was completely renovated and reopened the fall of 2012.

Two interesting facts are that Elvis Presley played on the Baton Rough High Stage on May 2, 1955 and the school was used in 2009 to film parts of the movie, Ticking Clock.

By the time you find this cache my student will be a 2015 graduate of the best school in Baton Rouge at least that is what we think.

The cache is in a small pill bottle. The school can be seen from the cache. The cache is easy because we want you to see the building and the nice landscaping.
