The establishment here has been made to resemble a 1940's European farmhouse similar to what you might have seen in France during WWII. The French resistance movement began in earnest in 1940 in response to German occupation and conditions of the French-German armistace. The citizens of France were financially responsible for the upkeep of a 300,000-strong German occupation force. This was devasting to the economy and caused widespread food and labour shortages. People from many different segments of society and ethnicity began to unite into an organized Resistance which engaged in activites as varied as economic resistance, guerrilla warfare, sabotage, intellegence and even the formation of a clandestine press. The French Resistance was vital in aiding the Allies' movement through France and providing intellegence about German forces before several key invasions. This is just a very brief overview of the resistance movement. The subject is quite extensive and makes for some fascinating reading.
The cache has been placed with permission of the establishment. Enjoy!
